About
Where these numbers come from
The Korea Brief publishes data briefs about living in, moving to, and investing in South Korea. Every figure on this site traces back to a primary Korean government source, and every page states the date the underlying data was pulled.
Sources
Figures are compiled directly from public APIs published by:
- Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport — apartment sale and lease transaction records
- Bank of Korea (ECOS) — policy rate, exchange rates, price indices
- Statistics Korea (KOSIS) — consumer prices, demographics
- Financial Supervisory Service — deposit and loan rate disclosures
- Ministry of the Interior and Safety — public service and benefit records
- Korea Tourism Organization — English tourism information service
How figures are checked
Numbers in the text are matched against the archived source data before a page is published. Where a figure cannot be traced to a source record, it does not appear.
What this site is not
This is not financial, legal, tax, or immigration advice. Rules affecting foreign residents change frequently and often depend on individual circumstances. Confirm anything consequential with the relevant Korean authority or a licensed professional before acting on it.
Corrections
If a figure here disagrees with the source it cites, that is a defect worth fixing. Corrections are noted with an updated date on the page itself.
